Michelle Trachtenberg was notably left out of the \u201cIn Memoriam\u201d segment at the 2025 Oscars.<\/p>\n

The annual Academy Awards took place Sunday in Los Angeles, where late movie stars were remembered by their grieving peers.<\/p>\n

However, fans were outraged after the \u201cGossip Girl\u201d star was not mentioned less than one week after her tragic death.<\/p>\n

\u201cMichelle Trachtenberg deserved her flowers!!! #Oscars that\u2019s so sad,\u201d one X\u00a0user wrote,\u00a0to which\u00a0another added,\u00a0\u201coh f\u2014k yall for not including michelle trachtenberg. so disrespectful.\u201d<\/p>\n

Those honored in the Morgan Freeman-led segment included Maggie Smith, Gena Rowlands, Teri Garr, Donald Sutherland, Louis Gossett Jr., Shelley Duvall, David Lynch, James Earl Jones and\u00a0Gene Hackman, whom Freeman called \u201ca dear friend.\u201d<\/p>\n

As Page Six previously reported, Trachtenberg went into cardiac arrest and died in her New York City apartment earlier this week after\u00a0having recently received a liver transplant. She was 39.<\/p>\n

\u201cUnder public health law, families may object to autopsy based on religious belief, and provided there is no suspicion of criminality or compelling public health reason to proceed with autopsy, the medical examiner honors the objection,\u201d a rep for the Office of Chief Medical Examiner in New York told us.<\/p>\n

While the city medical examiner\u2019s office conducted an external examination on the actress, it\u2019s unlikely any further testing will be done.<\/p>\n

Those who saw the \u201cHarriet the Spy\u201d star in the time leading up to her death said she\u00a0seemed to be \u201cin very bad shape.\u201d<\/p>\n

Just six days before she died, Trachtenberg dined with friends at Italian restaurant Sartiano\u2019s, where an employee observed her looking so \u201cfrail\u201d that she could barely \u201cwalk down the stairs.\u201d<\/p>\n

A neighbor recalled the same sight, noting that Trachtenberg had become \u201csvelte\u201d and looked \u201cless and less like herself in the last few months,\u201d which echoed what fans\u00a0had been saying for at least a year.<\/p>\n

The \u201cEuroTrip\u201d star had seemingly lost weight, her hair had thinned and the whites of her eyes appeared yellow, but she insisted in January 2024 that she\u00a0was \u201chappy and healthy.\u201d<\/p>\n

As for Hackman, Santa Fe County sheriff\u2019s deputies discovered the two-time Oscar winner\u2019s body in his New Mexico home Wednesday afternoon. He was 95.<\/p>\n

The bodies of his wife, 65-year-old classical pianist\u00a0Betsy Arakawa, and one of the couple\u2019s dogs were also discovered.<\/p>\n

Though the deputies did not suspect foul play, they later\u00a0called the deaths \u201csuspicious.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cThe death of the two deceased individuals [is] suspicious enough in nature to require a thorough search and investigation because the reporting party found the front door of the residence unsecured and opened,\u201d the search warrant stated.<\/p>\n

\u201cDeputies observed a healthy dog running loose on the property, another healthy dog near the deceased female, a deceased dog laying 10-15 feet from the deceased female in a closet of the bathroom, the heater being moved, the pill bottle being opened and pills scattered next to the female, the male decedent being located in a separate room of the residence, and no obvious signs of a gas leak.\u201d<\/p>\n

At one point, the \u201cFrench Connection\u201d star\u2019s\u00a0eldest daughter, Elizabeth Hackman, believed carbon monoxide poisoning\u00a0might have led to her dad and stepmom\u2019s deaths. It\u2019s unclear where she stands now.<\/p>\n
